Prof. Gloyn is a world renowned scientist and leading researcher into the genetics of type 2 diabetes. She will be discussing the mechanism linking genetic variants with glucose intolerance and development of Diabetes.
Dr. Michael Rickels is Professor of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and an ongoing contributor to PancreasFest in the area of diabetes in chronic pancreatitis (see PMID: 23890130. He will be bringing exciting new insights into the biology of pancreatic ß cells in leading to T2D.
Dr Blackman is Associate Professor, Pediatric Endocrinology The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. He is an expert on cystic fibrosis related diabetes (CFRD) and will be discussing genetics of diabetes in CF.
